BIOGRAPHY
DAVID M. OSBORNE
David
Mervyn Osborne (“Mundo”)- Born to the parents of Teacher
Eleanor M. Osborne and Honourable John A. Osborne. He
attended the St. Peter’s Primary School, the Salem
Junior Secondary School and then went on to the Langley
Boarding School in the United Kingdom.
Upon
returning to Montserrat in 1979, from Boarding school,
David immediately went to work with his father, managing
the shipping company which his father owned and
assisting with the building of cargo boats.
In 1986,
after working with his father for 7 years, David started
his own Heavy Equipment Company. David developed a keen
interest in the construction industry and got involved
in the building of roads, drains and the construction of
houses and other buildings.
David
spent a year in Germany in 1990, where he learnt how to
operate and repair heavy equipment and received exposure
in the operations of a recycling plant. He later moved
to the United States, where he further developed his
mechanical skills and specialized in the manufacturing
and repairing of radiators and cooling systems.
After
returning to Montserrat in 2001, David formed two other
companies- DMO Enterprises Inc. and Richmond Mining
Limited. These two companies, deal with trucking and
heavy equipment rentals and the processing of Volcanic
Material from both the Belham Valley and the Trants
Valley, for the purpose of construction both locally and
regionally.
David’s
passion for people is seen as he continues to provide
work for people and encourage them to work hard and
strive to be successful. David’s belief is that as many
young people as possible, should start their own
businesses and help to develop a thriving private
sector, which will ultimately result in economic growth
and self sustainability for Montserrat.
