With over thirty
three (33) years of service to the people of Montserrat,
my contributions have touched the lives of many persons
throughout the island. I continue my commitment to
working for the people by presenting myself as an MCAP
candidate in the upcoming general elections.
I am Joseph
“Easton” Taylor Farrell, an agriculturist by profession,
a graduate of the Guyana school of agriculture and the
Eltham Training Centre in Jamaica. As an Agricultural
Extension Officer, my leadership and management skills
and commitment to agriculture in this country has
contributed to the improvement of lives and livelihood
of many of our farmers and their families.
The highlights of my career
include:
- the introduction of new
farming techniques in production
- the introduction of improved
varieties of seeds and seedlings
- the development of model plot
at Groves in citrus and other fruit trees with the
view of making Montserrat self-sufficient in citrus
- the cattle fattening project
at Brodericks which illustrated a new dimension to
livestock management with emphasis on reduce
importation of steaks and replacement with local
produce
- demonstration to farmers by
example that there agricultural production in the
north through the transformation of the Greenaway
estate at Brades into a bread basket.
- management of 2 major
agricultural development projects costing $1.3M
My exposure in the
field of agriculture is not limited to Montserrat; I
have had several attachments within the region and have
represented the Ministry of Agriculture at many regional
forums.
In the field of agriculture I have
served as:-

- Officer in Charge of Plant
Quarantine
- Agricultural Officer
- Acting Director of Agriculture
My role as a change
agent is not confined to agriculture and agricultural
related activities but rather as a spiritual leader,
advisor, counselor, arbitrator, and financial advisor
and mentor. My many community involvements are
indicative of my commitment to working for and with

I am a
firm believer that strong families are the cornerstone
of our communities and hence every effort must be made
to strengthen our families. I have been married for
thirty four (34) years and have of three daughters who
are also contributing to this nation.
I credit my qualities of honesty,
integrity, caring nature and moral values to my faith in
God and the spiritual teachings of my church.
I have demonstrated my ability to
work with people from every strata of society in the
interest of nation building and the enhancement of
livelihoods for all.
